About Budhlada

Budhlada (Punjabi) is a small village or a hamlet, as well as a municipal council that is located in Mansa district of the Punjab state. It is found over the Bhatinda-Delhi railway line. History of Budhlada

Budha and Lada were the siblings, of this village Budhlada. Earlier, the village has a different name. But, it became Budhlada with their names. These two brothers, who took birth in this village, were Khatri by caste. This village was said to be the part of Kaithal state. The Kaithal king refused to help British during the year 1857. And the British extended the kingdom by merging the kingdom with the Karnal District, which was the biggest market of the east Punjab. This place was a 2nd biggest recruitment centre of the military personnel of Rohtak. Budhlada was a said to be the British police station before freedom. Famous 'Lok Nike' (Lok Nike means Hero of the People). There were many Lok Nike at this place; few of which were Jiauna Maur, Kishna Maur, as well as Sucha Singh Soorma. Jiauna Maur and Kishna Maur were the siblings, who used to help poor and needy people. However, Kishna Maur was rescued by Budhlada Police station for some political reason. And the Sucha Singh Soorma was the Hero of the neighboring village known as 'Samauo' which is very near to Budhlada.

This village is surrounded by Bhikhi Tehsil to the North, ‘Mansa’ and ‘Jhunir’ tehsils are located to the west-side; similarly, towards the east lies, Lehragaga Tehsil. And the town is situated at the border of the Mansa District as well as the District of Fatehabad.

Budhlada has a moderate temperature in summer. While, the highest day temperature during summer is between 21° C to 46° C. The Average Temperature during the month of January is 13° C and in the month of February, it will be 16° C; While, in the month of March and April, the temperature rises to 21° C and 28 ° C respectively; similarly, in the month of May, it goes up to 33° C. Hence, as per the records, this town has a semi-arid climate where the temperature varies between 45° C during summer and 0° C in winter season.

In Budhlada, the average population according to the India Census of 2011 was 26,172. This whole number has been divided into males and females, as well as children. Male population constituted as 13,832 (i.e, approximately 53% of the total population) and the female population was found to be 12,340 (i.e, about 47% percent of the average population). Similarly, the total population of infants between the ages of 0 to 6 were found to be 13%. The average literacy rate of the city of Budhlada was 71%; out of which, Male literacy rate was 74.5% and the literacy rate of females was 63%. Birdh Ashram in Budhlada is administered by Ashram trust. It is located close to the Old Goshala of the town.Goshala is nothing but the place where the battle of cows are nurtured or cared; Gou meaning Cow, and Shala means place. Actually in hindu culture, Cow is treated as a sacred animal. So, these cows are tied and grazed properly by the Ashram trustees to protect the cow.

Gurudwara Shri Tegh Bahadur Sahib

Gurudwara Shri Tegh Bahadur Sahib is the very important Sikh place of worship, which is situated in the place of Budhlada. It has been established over the north-eastern corner of the tehsil and is close to the bus station . Holy Scriptures are also installed in this Gurudwara of Shri Tegh Bahadur Sahib.

Gurudwara Singh Sabha Ilaka Bara

Apart from Gurudwara Tegh Bahadur, there is another Gurudwara known as 'Gurudwara Singh Sabha Ilaka Bara' which is situated near to the railway station . This holy place remains occupied by people throughout the year. Regular prayers and offerings are performed to the Guru Singh Sabha to seek His blessings.

Lord Shiva Temple

Lord Shiva Temple, as the name itself indicates the main God in this temple. That means, the temple is devoted to Lord Shiva, and regular prayers are offered to the Lord. Most of the devotees gather from the nearby villages to offer prayers. Similarly, people from other parts of the country visit this place to have darshan of the Lord Shiva Temple in Budhlada.

Krishna Mandir

Krishna Mandir is established in the center part of the tehsil, and Lord Krishna is found to be the main deity of this temple. Like other temples, regular pujas are offered to the Lord Krishna with full of devotion. People gather in large numbers to surrender themselves to the Lord.

Hanuman Mandir

Lord Hanuman (Monkey God) is found to be the important deity in this temple of Hanuman. Lord Hanuman is the devotee of Lord Rama (Both characters were found in the Epic Ramayana). Saints in this Hanuman Mandir worship Lord Hanuman regularly at this temple. However, special pooja is offered to the Lord on every Saturday, which is the favorite day of Lord Hanuman.
